The Arc of Indiana Foundation exists to provide opportunities for postsecondary vocational training for people with disabilities that empower and lead to meaningful employment through its program, Erskine Green Training Institute (EGTI).
The purpose of a job description is to give a framework to the general nature of the position. The Arc of Indiana Foundation is successful because of the teamwork of all employees working together to better employment outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Volunteering
Community Mentor
A community mentor is responsible for providing social guidance in the community by supporting their assigned student in social activities. Activities may include, but are not limited to, attending sporting events, concerts, movies and malls. A community mentor is expected to spend time with their assigned student at least once per week. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.
Fitness Mentor
A fitness mentor is responsible for participating in fitness activities with their assigned student. Fitness activities may include, but are not limited to, biking, running, lifting, walking and attending aerobics classes. A fitness mentor is required to participate in at least one fitness activity per week with their assigned student. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.
